Cluster Headache

In a day many times, sharp and painful headache occurs and lasts until an hour. For few months, these headaches come again every day at the same time. The cause of a cluster headache is smoking, drinking alcohol, heat, physical exertion.

Sinus Headache

In this, you get pain in front of the head and face. It is caused by swelling of any sinus cavities which are present behind the cheeks, nose, and eyes. The cause it is cold, flu, fever, infection, allergies.

1. Ginger, The All-Rounder


Ginger is the remedy used for almost everything. It gives an instant relief for a headache. Ginger reduces inflammation of the blood vessels in the head so it reduces the pain.

How to use it?

  • put ginger root in a tea or
  • Take equal amount of ginger juice and lemon juice then drink it. You can drink this juice one or two times in a day.
  • Take 2 tablespoons of water and mix it with ginger powder and make a paste. Apply it on the forehead and keep it for few minutes.

2. Cinnamon Please!

Cinnamon is an effective spice which treats headaches. Now, let me tell you how you can use cinnamon to treat it.

How To Use It?

  • Take some cinnamon sticks and grind it to make a powder.
  • In the powder add some water and make a thick paste.
  • Apply the paste on the forehead and lie down for about 30 minutes.
  • Wash it off with lukewarm water.

3. Time for Thyme

Thyme is one of the best home remedies to cure a headache. It is a king of the kitchen which contains carvacrol. Carvacrol is the chemical which is present in most of the pain medication.

How To Use It?

  • Take hot water and add few drops of thyme essential oil.
  • Soak the towel in it and apply it to ease achy muscles in the neck, back, and shoulders.
  • If you have a migraine then it will be better with a cold compress.

A fast relief for a headache can also include mixing of thyme and honey to get rid of flu headache. Make a tea. Add thyme in a boiling water and a tablespoon of honey and drink the tea.

4. Stretch Yourself

Mostly, headaches are the result of tensed muscles in the neck, shoulder, and scalp. There are few exercises which are easy and can relieve your pain.

How To Stretch Yourself?

Bend neck towards each shoulder. Slowly rotate your neck for five times. With this, your neck and shoulder muscles will be relaxed.

Move your chin downwards and upwards, left and right. All these exercises should be done for few minutes.

5. Heat Up or Cool Down?

If it is a migraine pain then you will get relief after you apply an ice pack to the back of the neck. As it is cold, it reduces the inflammation that contributes to a headache. You can also soak your feet in hot water, it also helps you to get rid of the pain. If the pain is severe then add a bit of mustard powder to the water.

6. Crazy for Cloves

Cloves have the cooling and pain relieving properties so it helps in curing the pain. In Hindi, we call it Laung.

  • Take few cloves and crush it gently. Put it in a clean handkerchief.
  • Intake the smell of the crushed laung whenever you get a headache.
  • You can also add 2 drops of clove oil in one tablespoon of coconut oil and a sea salt. Gently, massage with it on your forehead.

Basil is a strong scented herb which is used for headache treatment, it has lots of painkiller benefits. The oil works as a relaxant and helps to cure a headache which is caused by tension.

How To Use It?

  • Take two to three fresh basil leaves and a cup of boiling water.
  • Add the leaves in a boiling water and let it simmer
  • Add little bit honey and drink the tea slowly.
  • If you can then chew some fresh basil leaves or inhale the steam after boiling.

8. Apple a Day Keeps The Doctor Away

Apples and apple cider vinegar can cure a headache. It restores the acid-alkaline balance in the body.

How To Use It?

  • Take half cup of water and half cup of apple cider vinegar
  • Mix it and boil them in a covered pan.
  • Off the heat and take the steam.
  • It will give an instant relief.When you wake up with a headache then just eat a piece of apple. Sprinkle some salt on it and drink warm water after eating it. Or you can add two teaspoons of apple cider vinegar in a glass of water. In the glass add honey and a lemon juice. Drink it two to three times once in a day.

9. Green Tea

You need these things

  • Green tea leaves or a tea bag
  • Hot water

  • Put the leaves or tea bag in a cup of boiling water.

10. Almonds
